As Dreamers Do Part Deux

Speaking of walking papers, Jeffrey Bewkes was greeted by Bally shareholders chanting the chorus of Steam's Kiss Him Goodbye as he walked to a waiting limo.

Early after CBS and Discovery merged, Hasbro attempted a hostile takeover and that's what prompted Zaz to be handed his walking papers.

AWESOME!..............

About Zaz and Bewkes getting fired..
This is a nice result, but Hasbro might have some good reasons to merge into CBS-Discovery, given the former's high-profile partnership.
Right...

Attendance: 5,500 (4,200 paid and 1,300 compensation tickets)

Impact pre-show Matches presented by Panasonic Pantheon:

RedDragon (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) vs. London Brawling (Doug Williams and Drew Galloway) goes to a Time Limit Draw at 10:00.

The Tokyo Strikers (Io and Mio Shirai/w Kana) def. Los Apache (Faby and Mari) with a superkick dragon sleeper combo.

PPV Matches:

Tag Team Showcase: The Working Men (Mike and Brett Dibiase) def. Inheritors of the King’s Road (Katsuhiko Nakajima and Taiji Ishinomori).

The Tag Team Gauntlet match included eight different teams. But of these eight teams, four are new signees to the company. The Inheritors of the King's Road are young boys from the all japan dojo who are earmarked by head trainer Keiji Mutoh's to be the future of the industry after company president Mitsuharu Misawa's choices of KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji, Go Shiozaki, and Takeshi Sugira. As for the Working Men, these are two of the Million Dollar Man's sons coming into their match. Their brother Teddy Jr is currently in WCW's Breakout Division. For the match, it takes the working men 12:15 to put away the Inheritors with a Powerplex and by the end of it their chests are as red as grape tomatoes.

Knockouts Showcase: Rebecca Knox def. Taylor Wilde
.
For those who may not know, Rebecca Knox is the original ring name of “The Man” Becky Lynch. During the finals of the Knockouts Battle Royale, Taylor and Rebecca end up eliminating each other as Becky ends taking Taylor over the top rope with a crossbody. This annoys Taylor to no end and this leads to Taylor picking fights with Becky every week on Xplosion. Thus this match ends with Becky getting a flash rollup on Taylor in 7:23. All this leads to is another pull apart brawl showing that we have a rivalry to continue over the next few shows.

X-Division Fatal Four Way: Jay Lethal def. Consequences Creed, Tyler Black, and Low Ki.

Here's a massive swerve. The former Champion winning back his title by pinning the very man who earned his way into the match via the flagship match of the division. The finish comes about when Creed is set up for the curbstomp only for Lethal to catch Black with a cutter, a lethal combination to Low Ki, and a elbow to Black for good measure in 14: 32.
The Shooting Star Express (PAC and Ricochet) def. The James Gang (BG and Kip).

Lance Cade def. Ron “The Truth” Killings.

Both matches are essentially just a last squash for these talents as the James Gang are heading back to the NWA with Mr. Levesque and Ron is en route to ECW.

Street Fight for the Final Slot in the Fatal Four Way Tag Title Match: The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) def. LAX (Hernandez and Mil Muertes) (w/”El Jefe” Dario Cuerto). During the Tag Team Gauntlet Match, Ever-Rise and The Naturals ended up being the final two teams within. The Naturals eliminating LAX and Ever-Rise being the final team. Not too happy about this incident, LAX returned to the match with another two men (later to be revealed as Homicide and Ricky Reyes) knocking Douglas out with a slapjack and a pipe (Steiner: “GIMME BACK MY DAMN PIPE, YOU JUMPING BEANS!”). In response to this, Kevin Von Erich would force LAX to defend their shot in a Street Fight on the card. The match would go for a staggering 20 minutes with run ins from both Homicide and Ricky being thwarted by RedDragon only to end with Chase and Andy catching Hernandez with their new finisher the Sootstorm, a slingblade from Chase and a frog splash from Andy.

Knockouts Title Fatal Four Way: Vanessa Von Erich def. Gail Kim, Lufisto, and Angelina Love.
If you're wondering who Vanessa Von Erich is, she is not Lacey Von Erich but rather the daughter of Mike Von Erich, who instead of suffering the Von Erich curse and exiting this world via suicide; went on to become a composer for television shows like Highlander, video games like Nights into Dreams, and pro wrestling being Impact's main composer since the beginning of the company. As for Lufisto, she's been running through the Canadian independents since her debut in 1997. Gail Kim and Angelina Love are still the same as they were iotl. As for the match, Vanessa, being 6'8, 285 lbs decimated every woman that stepped to her, smashing Angelina with her finisher the hellevator (a vertical suplex into a side slam) in 9:25.

World Tag Team Title Fatal Four Way: The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) def. America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm), Ever-Rise (Angelo Parker and Matt Mernard), and the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley).

For the semi-main event, The Naturals come into this match bruised and battered but still managed to get the win with a dual superkick combo from the guns and AMW take Ever-Rise out of the equation followed by Shelley high kneeing Harris when he sets up for the death sentence. With a downed Harris, Douglas pushes Storm off the turnbuckle and hits the Sootstorm on Sabin for the win.

World Title Fatal Four Way:

Chris Jericho defeats AJ Styles, Scott Steiner, and Bobby Roode.

As the former World Champion, Scott Steiner would get a buy into this match, while AJ would earn his shot by defeating Monty Brown (His last match before leaving for the NWA), Bobby Roode would win the six pack challenge against all three men, Petey Williams, and Sonny Siaki. Finally, Jericho would earn his way into the match by defeating Lance Cade in a somewhat competitive match that also ended up being a farce due to Jericho ordering Cade to lay down for him.
As for the match itself, Jericho and Bobby ended up being the final two men in the ring while AJ was fighting off Lance Cade and Tyler Black while Steiner were busy fighting off the rest of the JSEU. Bobby looks to finish off with the Payoff( a suplex followed by a facebuster) only for Jericho to wiggle out, back hand him with an elbow and follow that up with the Codebreaker( a jawbreaker with your knees) for the win. The show ends with Jericho being lifted by his stablemates (read minions) with the world title fastened to his waist and confetti raining from the rafters.

I have every card up to Slammiversary written out so we have a buffer of about four PPV's and one special episode of Impact. See you all for Lockdown once we get to late March.
