I have really come to enjoy some of the American political TLs on this site. Just wondering what do you think is the best TL of this type on the site? No matter how old.

I haven't read many, but I've liked "The Spirit of '76" and "A Born Winner'.
As we've established, while that's one of the best TLs ever written, it's not really a political TL. More of a social one, in that it covers all of society, not just the corridors of power.
Considering these are the people interesting in such a topic does anyone have any interest in doing a collaborative TL dealing with American politics? It would be interesting to see what a group could do together.
I want to do an RFK TL that combines elements of A Disturbance of Fate, The Impossible Dream, and some of my own work. I have the perfect name for it: The Best of Both Worlds.
I would be highly interested in such a proposition, though I must tell you my political leanings are nothing like my name.

Well my knowledge is mostly from after WW1 to the 50's how about you? I hope to have people with various politically leanings so to avoid wanking or screwing of either side (Republican and Democrat). Observer the problem of your idea for the project is that there would be a lot of ripping off of other's ideas the way you described it.

my pod there might have been a tad late for manstein to get involved... unless we could somehow butterfly his surviving son (rutiger i think?) to immigrate to the US and have one of his children become senate majority leader or something else that gives him a role in the tl

I know it's off topic, but whatever happened to your idea for Manstein and 6th Panzer to end up in Transylvania?
This is hands-down the best American politics TL I have read. 'All Along the Watchtower' is on the same level. AWOLAWAT is too.
After that, 'An Era of Limits' and bawlexus' work. RB has some fine ones as well.
