What if the Byzantine empire & the kingdom of Georgia fused via Royalty-marrying royalty?

What if instead of fighting each other under Basil II & King george, they were already fused, or Basil II got engaged to King George's daughter (if he had one) or something like that.

Basil II didn't want to get married.
And just marrying the daughter doesn't make it part of the other kingdom, even assuming everything goes right and it ends up happening the Eastern Roman Empire is an elective monarchy (at least in theory) meaning that the inheritance doesn't go with the Emperor, at the first case of usurper (a very common thing) Georgia can declare its independence.

George I's eldest daughter was about... five years old when Basil II died.

ok, what if they make an Greement that they will elect King george to be Basil II's successor and that unites the 2 empires at the death of Basil II.

The Byzantines saw themselves as superior to most everybody else and would have not accepted such an union.

There's also the question why the Georgians would want this union, for that matter. Even apart from wildly varying succession laws, there's not a lot of motivation for anyone to push for this here.

Why? Why would you hand over all of the Eastern Roman Empire to someone else just to get a small kingdom in the Caucasus? Basil cannot legaly do this even if he wanted to.

The closest you could maybe get is an extended joint campaign against Mesopotamian emirs, where the king of Georgia/ heir to Georgia raised in Constantinople is assigned command over Roman generals/ earns their respect after the emperor personally delegates certain tasks to him.

Then the emperor dies while on this campaign and either the king of Georgia assumes command so that at least this campaign can end successfully and through that is able to get acclaimed emperor, or after some palace coups back in the City is invited in by the military faction.
