FALCONS DENY PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL REPEAT AS THE TEAM WIN FIRST SUPER BOWL IN FRANCHISE HISTORY
NFL .COM
The Atlanta Falcons were the ones to walk off field at midnight Sunday as champions of Super Bowl 39.
It was a slow start for the Falcons as they went into halftime trailing 21-14 after it seemed like the duo of Tom Brady and Corey Dillion seemed unstoppable.
However in the 2nd half it with Michael Vick and the Falcons that came out storming out of the gate as they were about to make it a 28-31 game with the leading going into the 4th quarter and then what seemed to be the worst possible nightmare happened the Patriots made it a 31-35 game after Deion Branch was able to just out run Defensive Rookie of the Year Sean Taylor and it looked like they were getting ready to celebrate back to back Super Bowl victories however Vick would use his legs with under 5 minutes go to set up a goal line touchdown run by Warrick Dunn. However it would be 58 seconds left in the game on a 4th and 10 on New England’s 25 year line were one of the plays that would go down in Atlanta Falcons history would happen.

Vick would barely avoid a sack by Richard Seymour that would have ended the game and instead he would his legs again to find Peerless Price in the end zone for a touchdown for a 38-35 Super Bowl winning touchdown.

The Falcons were champions of the National Football League for the first time in franchise history and afterwards after a 270 yard passing game with nearly 100 rushing yards with 3 touchdown passes Michael Vick was named the MVP of Super Bowl 39 as he went to hold that Lombardi Trophy center stage with coach Jim L Mora as he became the first Rookie head coach to win a Super Bowl since George Seifert did with the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIV.

As for the Patriots the first Playoff loss for the team since the 1997 season and the first playoff lost for Bill Belicheck since he was the coach of the Cleveland Browns in the 1994 season. And it would be the first Playoff loss in the career of Tom Brady.
But with that there is a new team on top of the NFL and it’s the Atlanta Falcons.

THE POST 100 DAYS OF THE GORE ADMINISTRATION
President Gore would return to the White House for the White House Correspondent dinner on the final Saturday of April in which would have a appearance from the man who played him on Saturday Night Live Darrell Hammond who would reprise his role as Al Gore and would speak aside with the real Al Gore poking jokes at Republicans, the previous W Bush administration and Gore himself.

Afterwards Gore would get back to work for the summer first in May was a trip around Europe which started off with a visit to the Netherlands celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE Day with the Dutch Prime Minster.

A few days later however during a visit to the country of Georgia there would a attempt on the President’s life as a Georgian nationalist Vladimir Arutyunian would attempt to throw a hand grenade at the stage in which President Gore and Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili were speaking at however Secret Service agents were able to tackle the suspect as the grenade failed to explode.

Both men were rushed to safety as later on Gore would cut the rest of the trip short and head back to Washington.

Afterwards in a statement with the press Gore said that he hoped the attempted assassin would be brought to Justice by the local authorities.

For the rest of May the debate in the country was the “Future for Iraq” bill that would call for a full withdrawal of US combat troops in Iraq by the end of 2008 the arming and training of Democratic Iraqi troops by US non combat troops plus a transfer of special forces troops to Afghanistan and Pakistan

The bill was received well by the American people in polls but there was a mixed reaction by Congress. Inducted by a Biparstian duo of Republican Congressman of Tennessee Jimmy Duncan and Democratic Congressman of Georgia Cynthia McKinney the bill would receive heavy debate in Congress.

President Gore when asked about Afghanistan and Pakistan he would add that the battle of those are still important and that Osama Bin Laden and the rest of Al-Qaeda need to be taken care of.

“The United States should not leave the Middle East with Osama Bin Laden still on the run”- President Gore would say to the nation on his weekly internet addresses to the country.

“Gore stayed strong after the attempted on his life even if he wanted to wait to take another international presidential trip.”-Chief of Staff Jack Quinn on PBS’s American Experience

It would be Vice President Howard Dean who would take the next international trip of the Gore Administration when he visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan speaking on the administration’s plans on the future in the Middle East.

Dean would be Gore’s attack dog going after his Republican critics while as Gore would mellow out when it came to him being on the attacking side.

“The Vice President know how to get people going. It was a nice departure from his predecessor Mr Cheney and if Gore couldn’t sell the American people on anything he could do so.”-Presidential Historian Jeff Greenfield

“Unlike the previous administration me and the President have a plan for a safe and easy withdrawal by the end of 2008 out of Iraq. And we aren’t listening to the people up in Hailburton or ExxonMobil for orders we are listening to the American public!”- Vice President Howard Dean in Iraq speaking to stationed American troops over there on Memorial Day 2005.

Meanwhile when the President returned to public speaking a few weeks after the attempt on his life in Georgia there was a different sound then what Dean was speaking. In his memorial speech Gore gave thanks for the people who sacrificed their lives for their country and would reminisce about his time as a soldier during the Vietnam War.

As a Vietnam vet Gore would relate to the struggles of the American personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In early June the Gore would address the nation from the Oval Office again on his plans for Iraq withdrawl.

His plan would call for several withdrawal events within the next few years including and most special forces of the US Armed Forces shall be reassigned to Afghanistan starting around early 2005 or late 2006 and having all US combat troops withdrawn out of Iraq by late 2008 early 2009

“This is a bipartisan matter that I have talked to senator John Kerry and senator Lincoln Chafee and their plans on this issue of getting this plan passed through the Senate if it of course passed through the House which I am confident that both parties have members that will be enough to pass the plan there.”

“There is a threat still in the Middle East yes but we have done enough in Iraq we have seen Saddam Hussein captured and a new Democratic elected government in Iraq. I spoke to the new Prime Minster over there Ibrahim al-Jaafari over the phone as one of the first world leaders I talked to when I took this position back in January.”

“Our new mission is to fight and take down Osama Bin Laden the man behind one of the worst tragedies in American history back in September 11th 2001.”

Gore would also explain that he would visit Iraq for the first time as president soon and meet with the new Democratic government there.

Afterwards it would be revealed that the majority of Amercians approved of President Gore and his withdrawl plan and that the war needed to end soon but Gore knew that it would be different of it getting passed through a Republican controlled Congress.

A week later President Gore visited Iraq and Afghanistan for his first out of state visit since last month’s incident.

Gore would meet with the new Democratic leader of Iraq Ibrahim al-Jaafari and his party and talked about what the US would do after they would fully withdraw combat troops such as keeping several non combat US personal into help train the free Democratic Iraqi fighters to take out the rest of Sadaam’s forces

“This new administration was obviously all about peace rather than conflict and I think for most Americans it was a breath of fresh air for a president to come to Iraq and doesn’t feel hostility in the air.” - Senator John Kerry on Fox News Sunday June 5th 2005

On the economic front it seemed like the Green budget bill had passed the unemployment was close being under 5% a total change from last June before Gore went into office with unemployment being at 8%.

And it seemed like for the rest of this month that the president was gonna try to figure out to get this Iraq deal done.

JUNE 2005 IN THE GORE ADMINISTRATION
When the President got back from the Middle East at the start of June the talk of the foreign policy would be sidelined for awhile as the 1st Lady would be in the headlines for her plans to deal with violent and mature rated video games.

In a press conference like she did in the 1980a with record companies and Rock artists Tipper Gore would call out video game companies for making it “Too Easy” for the youth of the country to buy mature rated and violent video games given the content in the games

However the company she would start to rail most against was the creator of the game Manhunt and of course the Grand Theft Auto series Rockstar games and Take 2 Interactive.

Tipper would be joined by senators Hillary Clinton and Joe Liberman plus former 2nd lady Lynne Cheney in a group that would hope for video game developers and creators to testify to the Senate on this issue.

“What the player can do in the game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is just monstrous and ill to the mind. We dealt with this also in the Senate a decade ago and now it has gotten worse!”- Senator Joe Lieberman in a “Parents Video Games Resource” Press Conference on June 10th 2005

However in the White House that story didn’t get to be talked about as much President Gore would tell reporters a few days later that he supports his wife and her cause but he wants to focus on the main issues for the country at hand.

“I am all in for what Tipper wants but there are still things I want to get done in my first year in this office so that’s all I can give you.”
President Gore in a White House press conference on June 13th 2005

Meanwhile behind close doors Vice President Howard Dean was not happy with the 1st lady and her campaign but kept it to himself not wanting to upset his boss.

“I can remember on Air Force 2 Howard was dumbfounded that Mrs Gore would want to focus on this during these times.”-Jeff Weaver then Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States

A few days after the Tipper Gore press conference representatives from the American branches of Rockstar games responded to the comments made the the First Lady saying “Games like Grand Theft Auto clearly have a Mature 17+ rating on the cover box and that should be a clear indicator that these games are not for children.

Valve Software would also respond to the remarks of the 1st lady with “Games like Half Life 2 and Counter Strike are made for mature audiences and not for children whatsoever. Any parent buying these games shall read carefully at the “Rated M” sticker on the front and the back explaining the content in the game that gives it a M rating.”

ESRB represents would respond to Tipper Gore and advocates by saying “The ESRB would very much welcome to go to Washington to explain in detail about the ESRB and our video game ratings system.”

Back to President Gore as he went to take a trip to Rome to talk about US and Vatican relations plus meet the new Pope Benedict XVI for the first time.

Meanwhile Vice President Howard Dean around that time would have his first major interview as Vice President with CBS Saturday Morning show where he talked about his role as Vice President and what he thought his goal as Vice President was.

When Gore got back to the White House later that month he would call for a bipartisan meeting on Healthcare reform with him and Vice President Dean.

Later on in June however talks for congressional hearings on violent video games and were planned for it to start in August.

A Bipartisan group of senators with Clinton,Lieberman,Rockefeller,Feinstein,Hagel and Alexander would led the way

Author’s Note: Sorry for short update unfortunately I had to stall for a bit due to personal issues but hopefully the next update is longer and bigger
